The Product Manager will manage the disease state solutions portfolio (e.g., clinically collected blood and non-blood derived biofluids, tissues, etc.), with applications for use in the R&D development, biomarker identification, validation and verification, diagnostics and extended spaces. In this cross functional role, you will work with business unit leaders, marketing peers, and other commercial team members to develop and implement an omni-channel marketing plan to meet global revenue, pricing and volume objectives for the defined portfolio. The ideal candidate will have had hands on experience using these research tools in a lab setting and will be able to translate that knowledge into successful marketing campaigns that resonant with the target audience.  

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Execute and deliver on the commercial strategy for defined product portfolio.
  • Be the lead marketing representative driving product launches to ensure product specifications are in-line with market requirements and to drive product launches as scheduled.
  • Lead product life cycle management, including managing all existing products pricing and quality/OTD, continuously improving position & profitability of current products, and Rationalization of Product Line/Pricing to drive portfolio profitability.
  • Serve as key liaison with operations, procurement, manufacturing, sales, and global marketing team for assigned product(s). 
  • Actively track and analyze global sales growth, gross margins, supply issues, quality issues, etc.; for the defined business.
  • Represent the voice of the customer inside the organization and make recommendations for new features or improved solutions for the product line.
  • Work closely with the Marcom team to develop and implement marketing programs to generate new sales leads.
  • Gather competitive intelligence and market research to maintain an understanding of the competitive landscape to inform strategic and tactical product plans.
  • Develop and manage product line-specific content such as sales tools, collateral materials, scientific publications, trade exhibits, and web site content.
  • Liaise with sales as a technical advisor for supported products and provide marketing and/or technical support at conventions, user's meetings, workshops, and other specific marketing functions.

Qualifications

  • Minimum BS degree in related field, with scientific background in lab research using biospecimens
  • Understanding of disease indications across multiple therapeutic areas is extremely beneficial. Especially Oncology, Neurological, Autoimmune, and Metabolic. 
  • 3-5 years’ experience of marketing within the life science industry
  • Experience managing an eCommerce platform as a marketing channel a plus
  • Demonstrated excellence in both written and oral communication skills. 
  • Ability to simultaneously manage multiple, complex projects in varying stages of development under time pressure with minimal supervision
  • Proficient in programs including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Knowledge of customer relationship management (CRM) and sales channels is preferred
  • Knowledge of ERP systems is preferred
  • Strong collaboration, time management, organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to effectively engage at all levels of the organization, including senior executive interaction
  • Ability and willingness to travel (up to 30%) as necessary, including overnight business trips
